My mother and I went to the Choa Chu Kang GRC gathering in Jurong West which was an event for celebrating Family Day & Mid-Autumn Festival, hence the title. Basically anyone can go as long as you buy the ticket. One ticket cost $20, which was enough for 4 ppl. Meaning $5 for each person. Quite worth right! Also not we pay oops. Apparently my grandfather bought it and asked us. But in the end, he couldn't go after all and it ended up with just my grandmother, mother and I. If it was me a few years back, I probably wouldn't go for this and would rather stay at home and watch my dramas lol.
I think I chose to go because I have started to realise that family is important and I want to treasure them. I guess I have matured a little in that sense. As you grow older... well.
Another reason was because I had free time on my hands since I had had just ended my clinical. Moreover, I have never been to a GRC event before. Like those gathering type. So I thought, why not? I was pretty glad I went too.
Dropped by Jurong Point to go to the bus interchange. And realised there's actually Poulet here! :o
So of course I was irritated throughout the ride. I extremely dislike it when I'm going to some unfamiliar place without proper directions or a guide. So I was complaining a lot while googling the directions. But when I saw my grandmother, all the irritation disappeared lol. It's like I have found my anchor point and can relax. Haha.
But I was kind of disappointed when I reached haha. And it was drizzling wth. The venue's like open space! Plus, it was hard to find our own table. They can even state on the ticket 'free-seating'. What free-seating uh?
After we finally found our seats

With the ticket, we can collect the cooked food pack, the bbq food pack and goodie bags!
Some people started barbecuing already!
The cooked food pack!
Tryna smile?
Goodie bags with lanterns in one of them! Unfortunately, I didn't play with it cos my grandmother wanted them. :/
Whee, my fav, mushrooms <3
Happy me satisfying my stomach.
I only took so many photos of the girl cos I was jealous of the lantern okay.
And her balloon.
If I had friends there with me I'd have pulled them to take balloons with me. Hehe. And walk the lantern procession whoohoo! Which I didn't take any photos of. I got to see 2 MPs : Mr Alex Yam and Mr Zaqy Mohamad
Some primary school kids performing.
And they had some booths at the back for fun and games~ I should have went for the snowskin mooncake making but I paiseh. Haha.
Bright dragon!
I really enjoyed it more than I expected since there was good food, performances and all. Got to spend a little bit of time with y grandmother too. But it's a little sad that I didn't get to play with any lanterns like last year. ;( Oh well.
Thanks for reading! (:
